There is a tiramisu specialty company called “The Tiramisu Hero” in Singapore which is using a character of cat with a mask.
An unrelated Japanese company had registered as their trademarks the character “Tiramisu Hero” in Japanese and the “THE TIRAMIS HERO ” with the cat.
As for me, I have an interest how this patent attorney thought when this Japanese company asked him to apply for them.
There is a story that the original Singapore’s company was not so famous in Japan so far.
So he might have not known the existence of the original company or Japanese company might have tell him they will have contract with the original company.
If the latter, I also might have applied for trademark as he did.
In the field of eating and drinking, one company often imitates the concept of hit products of others.
I hope that such cases will be fewer with this problem as a trigger.
