*** A one-month extension of the specified time limit for responding to a notification of reasons for refusal, etc., can be granted to applicants who are domestic residents of Japan as well as those who are overseas residents, by filing a request before the specified time limit. Even after the expiration of the specified time limit, a two-month extension can be granted by filing a request within two months from the day following the last day of the said time limit (or within two months from the day following the last day of the one-month extension, if the extension of the one month has already been granted). The two-month extension is granted with a single request. No reasonable grounds for the extension is required.
